Sunday
School
"Enabling young people to discover and experience the love of
God"
Christian formation is a lifelong process that begins at home
and is reinforced in Sunday school. We provide a learning
environment for children ages 3 and above where they can explore
and be nurtured in their spiritual development. The ministry of
Christian educators is to help you, the parent, shape your
children as Christians. We reinforce their Christianity in a way
that leads to ministry based on the Baptismal Covenant, by
spreading the Gospel and reinforcing its values and direction.
On Sundays, classes meet at 10:15am. Children stay with
their parents in the church until the collect is read, then go
to their Sunday School classes. They return to the church during
communiuon.
Our curricula include Godly Play, Seasons of the Spirit and Journey to Adulthood. We also
have special Sunday school days, including Hat Day, Movie Day,
Bring-a-Friend Day, Easter Egg Hunt, Pentecost Party and
Christmas Pageant and Party.
Sunday school is a priority mission at St. James. Our team of
dedicated volunteer teachers demonstrates outstanding leadership
and the love of Christ for your child.
